Position as Defined by the Constitution
The President has control over policy-making procedures as head of the Executive Committee. Primarily, the President presides over meetings, helps set the agenda and goals for the organization during the semester, delegates tasks amongst the executive board, enforces completion of these tasks, and is responsible for the everyday upkeep of the organization. The President may help organize club events and support executive board members as needed, or as outlined in other officer descriptions. The President is responsible for ensuring that emails referencing upcoming meetings and news are delivered by the President or by relevant Executive Committee members. The President will also act as a liaison to related student organizations to related student organizations such as Students for Entrepreneurial and Economic Development (SEED), the Global Development Organization (GDO), Engineering Student Council, and others.

The president provides oversight for the club in general.
This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Presiding over body and exec meetings
  • Setting expectations for other positions
  • Keeping the faculty advisor well informed
  • Performing outreach to other organizations
  • Organizing the SEED, GDO, ESWB conference in the spring with VP and other exec
