Position as Defined by the Constitution
The Academic Chair should work to incorporate ESWB‟s goals and objectives into engineering students’ coursework and education. The Academic Chair should aid members who wish to receive credit and/or recognition for their engineering service/research work. Specifically, they should work closely with faculty on establishing and maintaining the Engineering & Community Engagement program. The Academic Chair should develop and maintain sustainable relationships with faculty of the engineering school in order to expand the possibility of accredited development studies in the Engineering School. Additionally, the Academic Chair should make students aware of relevant classes at UVA, of relevant study abroad courses, and of other work opportunities that foster ESWB‟s goals and objectives.
