Our mission is to inspire students to be proactive and contextually aware engineers who empower communities to attain their basic human needs in a sustainable manner.
The ESWB Definition of Basic Human Needs
Basic Human Needs are:
- Access to clean water
- Access to clean air
- Access to food
- Access to shelter
- Access to sanitation
- Access to basic health care
- Access to basic education
We believe that these needs manifest themselves differently in different communities.
The ESWB Definition of Contextually Aware
To be contextually aware is to be mindful of other points of view, resources, cultural norms, and practices, as well as to consider carefully how our involvement will fit within this framework.
