I am excited to serve as ESWB’s treasurer for 2012-2013.  My major goals for the year include:

  • Re-establishing an ESWB travel grant.  I think it is important that we encourage ESWB members to travel to countries other than Nicaragua in order to expand our reach and spark ideas for new community development projects around the globe.  I would like to help organize a workshop or lecture to teach people how to investigate community needs and come up with project ideas while abroad, so that any ESWB member who vacations or studies abroad can return with new community development ideas.
  • Developing an efficient and effective way to post ESWB’s monthly financial reports and perhaps other monetary records to the website to increase transparency.  I would also like to create a graph which can be updated with each month’s data to show the progression of ESWB’s assets over time.
  • Raising money through concessions sales and other traditional fundraisers as well as by seeking corporate donations.
  • Monitoring the investment and maintaining a balanced budget.

I’m looking forward to a great year!

    Alisha,

All of those goals sound great!
I’m personally interested in the increase of transparency of our club’s financial situation, because, to be honest, I have no clue what’s going on with our money. I just know that we have invested a large sum and it seems to be doing well enough to sustain us for at least the next few years. I’ll definitely work with you to help us achieve this goal. Especially when it comes to the website stuff, so just let me know what your ideas are and we can hash out the technical details throughout the upcoming semester.
